YOUR PATH TO INSPIRED DESIGN

Our design process ensures that you get a master plan that is tailored to your style and needs. We begin each project with a client meeting to get a comprehensive understanding of your expectations. This collaboration between Sage Land Design and you and your team is carried through the entire process, from the preliminary design to the master plan, and if needed, construction oversight. We recognize that every project is different and we tailor our services to you. Our general design flow normally follows these steps:

1. An Introductory Meeting during which we determine client needs and desires and determine if Sage Land Design is a good fit. This meeting is always free of charge.

2. We provide a Design Fee Estimate, which gives you an idea of what costs will be associated with our design work on your project.

3. We do a Site Inventory and measure and draft your Site Plan. This provides a base to work from and helps us determine opportunities and constraints of the existing conditions of the site.

4. From here, we move onto Concept Development. This is our exploration of some different design options for your site. Once we have designed and drafted these we meet with you to review them.

5. We then develop a Preliminary Design, narrowing the design options based on your preferences, merging ideas from our concepts and refining the overall design. We then meet with you again to review this plan.

6. Finally, we develop a Master Plan. This is a final design showing general information about your landscape including: circulation paths, hardscape areas, planting areas, landscape amenities such as arbors, water features, etc. and general material choices. With this plan you can get ballpark bids from contractors for installation of the various features. Our Master Plan may also provide a list of recommended plant materials (Plant List) if desired.

If your project requires more detail for construction purposes and/or you would like our help through the construction process please see below.
